President & General Manager

Biotech operator and engineer with deep experience at the intersection of synthetic biology and automation. Previously served as General Manager of Eton Biosciences, co-founded multiple technology companies, and helped develop the first commercial DNA printer. At Racer, he drives product strategy and execution.

Chief Scientific Officer

Synthetic biologist and chemical engineer with deep expertise in DNA assembly, cell-free protein synthesis, and glycoengineering. Previously Global Head of Field Applications Science at Telesis Bio, deploying BioXp™ and Gibson Assembly® technologies across industry. Leads Racer's scientific vision and reagent development.

Inventor of Gibson Assembly, Board Member and Advisor to Racer Biosciences

Dan is a synthetic biologist and inventor best known for developing Gibson Assembly® and for co-leading the teams that created the first synthetic bacterial genome and the first synthetic cell. He has held leadership roles at the J. Craig Venter Institute and Synthetic Genomics/Telesis Bio, where he helped advance DNA synthesis, genome engineering, and the BioXp™ platform. At Racer, Dan brings deep expertise in DNA assembly, enzyme systems, and synthetic biology innovation.
